HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS TEST RESULTS BY PCRDate Reported: 2/15/2008

HPVNegative
The sample is negative for the presence of HPV DNA. These results do not exclude the possibility of HPV not detected due to sampling or assay sensitivity.  This specimen tested negative for: LVX160, CP8061, CP6108, 6, 11, 16, 18, 26, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 39, 42, 43, 44, 45, 51, 52, 53, 54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 61, 62, 64, 66, 67, 68, 69, 70, 72, 73, 74, 81, 82, 83, 84 and "Unknown." The presence of HPV in the anogenital tract is considered a precursor for the development of squamous epithelial dysplasia or neoplasia. Risk factors for dysplastic progression include infection with multiple HPV types and persistent, infection with high risk HPV types and an individual`s immune status.

HERPES SIMPLEX VIRUS DETECTION & GENOTYPING ASSAY BY PCRDate Reported: 2/14/2008

HSV, TYPE 1Not Detected
HSV, TYPE 2Positive
This sample is positive for evidence of DNA for Herpes Simplex Virus Type-2. There is no evidence of DNA for Herpes Simplex Virus Type-1.

Comment: These molecular genetic findings suggest the diagnosis of infection by Herpes Simplex Virus Type-2. Since there are potentially serious consequences of Herpes Simplex Virus Type-2 infection, current guidelines recommend the importance of testing the sexual partners of individuals positive for Herpes Simplex Virus Type-2 DNA, regardless of the presence or absence of clinical symptoms.
