Atypical squamous cells of undetermined significance, favor low-grade lesion (mild dysplasia and/or HPV effect). Endocervical cells or associated benign metaplastic cells present.

This sample is positive for the following HPV type(s) (35). This HPV infection is considered a high risk for development of dysplasia or neoplasia of the anogenital tract.  HPV of the anogenital tract is a sexually transmitted disease with implications for the development of organ specific cancers such as cervical carcinoma. The diagnosis of dysplasia and cancer are based on the morphologic assessment of the Pap smear or tissue obtained from biopsy.

CHLAMYDIA/GONORRHEA TEST RESULTS BY PCR

This sample is negative for evidence of either Chlamydia trachomatis or of Neisseria gonorrhea DNA as detected by methods of the polymerase chain reaction.  If clinical suspicion of infection remains, repeat collection and testing by culture based methodology is recommended.
