HPV of the anogenital tract is a sexually transmitted disease with implications for the development of organ specific cancers such as cervical carcinoma. The diagnosis of dysplasia and cancer are based on the morphologic assessment of the Pap smear or tissue obtained from biopsy.

There is no evidence of DNA for Neisseria gonorrhea.   These molecular genetic findings suggest the diagnosis of infection of the submitted sample by Chlamydia trachomatis. Current guidelines recommend the importance of testing the sexual partners of individuals positive for Chlamydia DNA.
